One thousand and two hundred community members including government officials and students involved in Indian Ocean Wave Exercise 2016 in Padang. The exercise purpose was to test the early warning system in Padang. The community was trained how to respond the warning. The community who felt strong earthquake will evacuate themselves from the strong earthquake and then evacuate to the nearest temporary evacuation structure (TES) – shelter Nurul Haq in Parupuk Tabing.
The exercise was coordinated by BNPB and BMKG, supported by BPBD of Padang city.
