The evacuation drill in Pacitan, East Java as the part of Indian Ocean Wave Exercise 2016 activities. The drill aimed to increase preparedness of the community and government of Pacitan in anticipating the tsunami disaster, given that Pacitan located at the Indian Ocean coastal area. The scenario simulated a earthquake (9.2 Richter scale) from southwest of Sumatra was triggered tsunami and the government of Pacitan declared the evacuation order. Hundreds of community members were involved, including students and workers.
