A Magnitude 9.2 Earthquake was simulated as part of IOWave16

An enormous earthquake of 9.2 magnitude was artificially simulated in the morning of 7 September near the south of Sumatra in Indonesia in order to conduct a two-day drill (code name IOWave16) for the preparation on any impending tsunamis. The drill continued on 8 September in which an earthquake of about 9 magnitude was simulated in the Makran Trench, situated to the south of Iran and Pakistan.
